Pauline Mae Vieta

Feb. 20, 1935 – Feb. 18, 2019

ABILENE — Pauline Mae Vieta, Abilene, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at Abilene Memorial Hospital, Abilene. She was 83.

She was born Feb. 20, 1935, at Carbondale, the daughter of William and Eula Young. She attended school at Burlingame and graduated from Burlingame High School in 1952.

She married Don Vieta, May 1, 1953. He survives of the home.

Pauline was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bobby Young.

Harry "Dean" Livingston

June 18, 1934 – Feb. 20, 2019

TOPEKA — Harry "Dean" Livingston, formerly of Carbondale, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, at Midland Care, Topeka. He was 84.

He was born June 18, 1934, at Carbondale, the son of Lemuel Leo and Ruth McPhail Livingston. He was a 1952 graduate of Carbondale High School where he wore number 10 as a member of the 1951 state champion basketball team.

Patricia Briggs Mabon

Died – Feb. 18, 2019

TOPEKA — Patricia Briggs Mabon died Feb. 18, 2019. She was 84.

She is survived by her husband Raymond; a daughter Brenda Grimmett and husband, Cecil; a son, David Mabon; two grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Loretta S. Schultz

July 21, 1959 – Feb. 19, 2019

GARDEN CITY — Loretta S. Schultz died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, at The Cottages, Garden City. She was 59.

She was born July 21, 1959, at Oxford, Neb., the daughter of Vernon & Betty Pettite Bienhoff. She was raised on a small farm in rural Nebraska.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Ottawa and later earned her master’s degree in accounting from The University of Kansas.

Loretta S. Schultz

July 21, 1959 – Feb. 19, 2019

GARDEN CITY — Loretta S. Schultz died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, at The Cottages, Garden City. She was 59.

John Henry Atchison

Sept. 26, 1930 – Feb. 18, 2019

OSAGE CITY — John Henry Atchison died Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at his home in Osage City. He was 88.

He was born Sept. 26, 1930, at Osage City, the son of John H. and Florence Gunterman Atchison.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 8, 1952 and served during the Korean War. He received a honorable discharge as a sergeant in May 1954.

He married Marguerite Schnoor in summer 1961 at Oklahoma. After almost 20 years of marriage they were divorced.
